Aquascaping Lab - CRYPTOCORYNE Aquatic Plant technical description and management (all varieties)

06:32
Aquascaping Lab by Tommaso Perini and Serena Sacchi, presents a video on description and management of aquatic plant Cryptocoryne describing more variety ( Cryptocoryne Petchii, Cryptocoryne Beckettii, Cryptocoryne Nevilli, Cryptocoryne Wenditii red, Cryptocoryne Undulata red, Cryptocoryne Tropica, Cryptocoryne Parva, Cryptocoryne Lucens). It comes from Araceae family and the origins are from Southeast Asia, Sri Lanka and the New Guinea. They are made of many rhizomes from which start the leaves, there are many varieties, each with its different morphology, however, talking about this aspect, the most important feature is the ability to adapt, is an aquatic varieties resistant to all types of waters, alkaline and acid. In the aquarium, it can happen that the crypto lose all the leaves, and then regenerate from rhizomes in a totally different color. They change their appearance depending on the condition, for example, with so much light are darken and grow bushier and low, with no much light instead get longer and brighter. Cryptocoryne is a slow-growing variety and being from Araceae family like Anubias, are very similar but the main difference is that the cryptocoryne are not epiphytes, so you cant positioned on driftwood or rocks, they need for this reason a substrate. Cryptocoryne Petchii: Crypto can exceed 15 cm high with spear-shaped leaves, if kept in good light and nutrients develops a very pronounced red. Cryptocoryne beckettii: Very similar to Petchii but in reduced form, about half, if kept well with a good light and nutrients becomes dark red almost reddish brown, even the leaf is reduced, not only the height. Cryptocoryne Nevilli: Initially on the green, very high, can easily reach 15 cm, has a little narrow and elongated leaf with a rounded tip, it can also take on a more dark color on the leaves. Cryptocoryne Wenditii red and Undulata red: They are very similar in a submerged form, Undulata red becomes more reddish while the first develops a dark red more accentuated on the stems, both varieties are high and develop wavy leaves in the leaf edges. Onlywhen you buy you can see the difference; the leaf of red Wenditii has the tip more rounded, while the undulata has the pointed leaf. Cryptocoryne Tropica: This kind of Cryptocoryne has reduced size, not more than 10 cm, brown, broad-leaved and bolted. Cryptocoryne Parva: Rounded and with a small leaf shaped like spades, the leaf remains green and small, and is one of the varieties that stays green. Grow about 10 cm tall but with much more light remains low. Cryptocoryne Lucens: Identical to Parva, but with more narrow elongated leaf and rounded tip, sometimes in the aquarium can take more dark or sometimes stays green, it becomes higher then parva. Reproduction and moltipication: Remember that the rhizomes, to find nutrients moving under the sand, sometimes even along the whole tank and then leak out and give birth to a new plant, the same applies to the roots, with inert bottom develop more. At the time of planting it can be divided into 2 or 3 parts depending on the size. Fertilizer and substrate: It is advisable to use gravelit, clay or porous stone as the first layer on the bottom, for better oxygenation and water flow. Then a mineral rich and fertile substrate, we recommend fertilized sand but also inert okay. It can grow in the absence of CO2, but with proper emission of co2 and a strong light, the variety will grow faster, producing visible oxygen from leaves, the so-called pearling. Price for jar about 6/7 € Ideal temperature range: 22°- 28° Celsius Light demand: medium Growth speed: medium / slow PH range: 6 - 7.5 GH range: 7-12 Cultivation difficuly: easy SUBSCRIBE NOW ON YOUTUBE CHANNEL: https://www.youtube.com/c/AquascapingLab PLANTS FIRM: http://www.troplant.com/ TROPLANT FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/Troplant-877966625572836/?fref=ts FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/AquascapingLab.info TWITTER: https://twitter.com/AquascapingLab INSTAGRAM: https://instagram.com/aquascapinglab Aquascaping Lab is a channel dedicated to the world of aquariums, where you can find tutorials, reviews, info, tips and experiences shared by experts in the field of aquascaping. Cryptocoryne Wendtii 'Tropica'

02:34
This beautiful variety with the dark, hammered leaves is named after 'Tropica'. When grown in an open space the leaves will virtually lie on the bottom. It is suitable for small aquariums with leaves from 10-15 cm, and a rosette from 10-20 cm wide. Like most other Sri Lanka Cryptocorynes, it also grows well in hard water. See more at tropica.com

How To Aquascape A Low Tech Planted Aquarium part 1

05:26
Truthfully doing organic soil and capping it is harder and more work than Aquasoil with Osmocote+. Yes one costs less, but what is actually easier and more plug and play. No mess-which saves new impatient hobbyists a headache. No cap-which saves money you can put towards Aquasoil. My plants are pearling and I haven't added any Excel or dosed anything to the water column. Have the tank set at 7.2 pH 80ppm KH 150ppm GH. Already has new growth on the anubias and they are super slow growers. Fish Tank Friday: Water Change, Banana Lilies, Cryptocoryne spiralis

07:06
Happy Fish Tank Friday! (Sorry about the video quality. Forgot to change my camera settings.) Time for a water change and discussion on some of my favorite plants, banana lilies (Nymphoides aquatica), and spiral crypts (Cryptocoryne spiralis). Cryptocoryne spiralis adds both height and visual drama to freshwater planted aquariums. Considered the most "primitive" of Cryptocorynes and distinguished by a septum closing the kettle, Spiralis is a common plant found in India's rice fields. Tall, slender, ruffled leaves sway gracefully under water, while emergent forms grow considerably shorter with broader leaves. The Nymphoides aquatica is known also known as the Banana Plant, and the Big Floating Heart. It is most commonly called the Banana Plant because of its banana shaped roots that store nutrients. The Banana Lily is an unusual plant to add to your aquarium. You can just drop this in your tank or bury the "bananas". This plant will thrive in moderate to strong, bright light. Beginners to experts can grow this plant. This is a particularly easy plant to grow. It looks great and grows fast. Eventually the plant will begin to send long stems to the surface where new surface leaves will form. Removing these stems will extend the life of the foliage at the base of the plant.

Keeping My Aquariums CRISPY!

10:10
An aquarium maintenance video? I've been getting requests for those from time to time and this sort of fulfills that request. This type of maintenance does not constitute what I do from week to week, as I pretty much just change water, occasionally trim plants and dose liquid ferts. Perhaps it gives some perspective on how I keep these looking crispy. In case you're wondering, all of these tanks are low-tech. As such I'm not needing to trim them every other day, but the plants are not as lush as they could be if I were to go hi-tech (inject CO2). That said, I'm perfectly fine taking my time with these and caring for them in a low-tech manner. Additionally all of these scapes were pretty cheap to setup. I'm not using top of the line gear here and I'd say most of the money goes toward hardscape, substrate and filtration. I'd estimate that each of these cost anywhere from $50-$100 to setup, but most likely in the $75 range. The only reason that I mention that, is you don't need a ton of money to create stuff like this. 90% of what you see on my channel is made from repurposed items or things that I bargained for. Be creative and you can make beautiful art on a budget. As promised, below is the PLANT LIST Danio Scape Aquarium (fka Terrarium in an Aquarium): Anubias nana 'petite', Anubias 'short & sharp', Bolbitis heudelotii, Bolbitis heteroclita difformis, Bucephalandra 'blue', Cabomba, Creeping Charlie, Cryptocoryne wendtii 'green' and 'red', Hygrophila polysperma 'sunset', Java Fern Rotala indica and Süßwassertang Blue Dream Shrimp Aquarium: Anacharis, Bolbitis heudelotii, Cryptocoryne wendtii 'green' and 'bronze', Cabomba, Ludwigia narrow leaf, Ludwigia repens 'Rubin', Christmas Moss, Rotala indica, Rotala wallichii, Cryptocoryne wendtii 'bronze' and Süßwassertang Casper's Aquarium (Betta): Anubias nana 'petite', Bolbitis heudelotii, Cryptocoryne lucens, Cryptocoryne wendtii 'bronze', Java Moss and Kleiner Bar Sword If you have any comments, suggestions or questions, leave them down in the comments! How to Plant in Sand Aquariums

03:25
Stop aquarium plants floating away Planting in sand substrate can be challenging but a bit of thought can really prevent or even stop aquarium plants floating away. Sand is very fine and is not the best for plants to root into and will not usually hold new plants in place, especially when the current is strong. Another issue many people find when planting in a sand aquarium is that fish really love to burrow and dig into it, usually disturbing the plants. Which plants? The best plants for planting in sand substrate are ones which have large root systems, thick stems, require few nutrients through their roots and grow relatively quickly .Examples of good plants for sandy aquariums are Echinodorus (amazon sword) and Cryptocoryne species. Other plants that have smaller root systems can be easily dislodged by water movement or by aquarium fish. Top tips to planting in sand substrate Adding a layer of gravel or planting substrate below your main layer of sand can help to give you a place to insert your plants and allow them a larger or denser substrate to root into, this will also provide them with much needed nutrients through their roots; beware though, burrowing fish will disturb this layer. NO SECRETS! Full maintenance VLOG of my 60P #FAAO #AQUASCAPING #TUTORIAL

42:25
It was going to be a short tutorial, but sorry, I have decided to don't do cuts in post processing and show you how I do the regular maintenance of my home tanks. * Attention * This aquarium has 12 months after planting and kept in the same way (maintenance) since day 1! I'm pretty sure everyone has its own way to proceed and what works for me can vary from region or country. If your tap water isn't good, just use RO water and salts and/or anti chloride to insure your fish don't get harmed. Plants will do a chemical filtration afterwards, but when you do a partial water change, fish can be affected and die. You must know your water conditions before you replicate all these steps! In case of doubt always let your reposition water to rest, consider also including some water conditioners to prevent any losses. I hope you find this video useful and entertaining, use these steps at your own risk. Feel welcome to share, comment and subscribe my channel Setup: Aquarium by ILA EUROPE, custom made with 60x40x35h cm Lighting system: Twinstar 600SP CO2: NEO diffuser M with 2bps, pressurized CO2 injection. HOW TO BUILD A LOW BUDGET PLANTED TANK

17:48
We never did this before, but we actually built a 40-liter small planted tank on a relatively low limited budget here at Green Aqua. We used an affordable light and a filter and matched with some other ingredients. But then something happened overnight.... and Balázs made a serious twist at the end. This low tech aquarium has already been taken home by a Green Aqua Customer - the next day after setup. So no updates will be available on it in the future. Sorry about that. But hey, we will do other guide videos so no worry. We've picked all the products from shelf to show you a cheaper alternative and we know you still can do it even cheaper in some parts of the World, but let's just keep the discussion to aquariums and less on budget and numbers. You always can save on costs in many ways. Skip to 10 minutes to cut the waffle. :D Seriously, don't skip, if you're a beginner. ;) Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day!
