Quantum Teleportation Is Real, Here's How It Works
Scientists successfully achieved earth-to-space quantum teleportation, but what exactly does that mean? How Quantum Computing Will Change The World! - https://youtu.be/3BKIJCTLy-s Read More: Teleportation: Photon particles today, humans tomorrow? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-40594387 “Chinese scientists say they have "teleported" a photon particle from the ground to a satellite orbiting 1,400km (870 miles) away. For many, however, teleportation evokes something much more exotic. Is a world previously confined to science fiction now becoming reality? Well, sort of. But we are not likely to be beaming ourselves to the office or a beach in the Bahamas anytime soon. Sorry.” China Demonstrates First Intercontinental Quantum Communication https://www.seeker.com/tech/china-demonstrates-first-intercontinental-quantum-communication “The first public demonstration of long distance quantum communication came a few weeks after China unveiled a new 1,240-mile-long optic-fiber quantum communication network between Beijing and Shanghai for the “military, finance, and government affairs fields.” In May, Chinese researchers announced a new quantum computer that they claimed was 24,000 times faster than competing designs, too.” Quantum Data Storage in a Single Atom Brings New Computing Era Closer to Reality https://www.seeker.com/tech/quantum-data-storage-in-a-single-atom-brings-new-computing-era-closer-to-reality “We’re on the verge of a quantum computing revolution. Entirely new devices will replace tiny transistors on silicon chips with atomic-scale processors capable of executing exponentially more calculations per second than today’s biggest and fastest supercomputers.” ____________________ Seeker inspires us to see the world through the lens of science and evokes a sense of curiosity, optimism and adventure. DiskCryptor is a full disk encryption system for Microsoft Windows that allows the encryption of an entire PC's hard drive or individual partitions – including the ability to encrypt the partition and disk on which the OS is installed. DiskCryptor was originally designed to replace commercial disk encryption systems such as DriveCrypt Plus Pack and PGP Whole Disk Encryption, and uses either AES-256, Twofish, Serpent or a combination of cascaded algorithms in XTS mode to carry out encryption. [MC 1.7.10] [CC 1.75] [Immibis' Peripherals] Mag-stripe Security!
So this is the last video I'm gonna be able to do for about a week (Not like I've had the best track record for consistency lately, haha!). As mentioned already, I'll be on Tumblr, Twitter and the like, I just won't be able to upload videogame videos! There's maybe a chance that I'll record and upload some RL things on holiday, but I can't make any promises! Either way, I hope you enjoy this little peek into how I build my code (i.e. not very well at all)

Variational Autoencoders
In this episode, we dive into Variational Autoencoders, a class of neural networks that can learn to compress data completely unsupervised! VAE's are a very hot topic right now in unsupervised modelling of latent variables and provide a unique solution to the curse of dimensionality. This video starts with a quick intro into normal autoencoders and then goes into VAE's and disentangled beta-VAE's. I aslo touch upon related topics like learning causal, latent representations, image segmentation and the reparameterization trick! Get ready for a pretty technical episode! Paper references: - Disentangled VAE's (DeepMind 2016): https://arxiv.org/abs/1606.05579 - Applying disentangled VAE's to RL: DARLA (DeepMind 2017): https://arxiv.org/abs/1707.08475 - Original VAE paper (2013): https://arxiv.org/abs/1312.6114 If you enjoy my videos, all support is super welcome! https://www.patreon.com/ArxivInsights

Preventing Data Exfiltration on Google Cloud (GCP) (Cloud Next '18)
Financial Services companies often face more stringent security requirements than fast-growing start-ups in other industries. For example, concerns such as data exfiltration by malicious insiders, as well as regulatory risks are often a higher priority than in many other industries. This talk surveys the approaches Two Sigma has used to mitigate risk in its extensive use of cloud computing. Some of these are based on the careful use of standard controls that GCP provides, while others have required intricate approaches, such as complex intercepting proxy policies, very specific firewall definitions, URL rewrites, and more. In part because of the needs of companies like Two Sigma, GCP cloud security capabilities are rapidly growing, and the talk illustrates the use of some of the newer security solutions that Google has been providing. Auburn Coach Wife Kristi Malzahn Agrees with Match & eHarmony: Men are Jerks
My advice is this: Settle! That's right. Don't worry about passion or intense connection. Don't nix a guy based on his annoying habit of yelling "Bravo!" in movie theaters. Overlook his halitosis or abysmal sense of aesthetics. Because if you want to have the infrastructure in place to have a family, settling is the way to go. Based on my observations, in fact, settling will probably make you happier in the long run, since many of those who marry with great expectations become more disillusioned with each passing year. (It's hard to maintain that level of zing when the conversation morphs into discussions about who's changing the diapers or balancing the checkbook.) Obviously, I wasn't always an advocate of settling. In fact, it took not settling to make me realize that settling is the better option, and even though settling is a rampant phenomenon, talking about it in a positive light makes people profoundly uncomfortable. Whenever I make the case for settling, people look at me with creased brows of disapproval or frowns of disappointment, the way a child might look at an older sibling who just informed her that Jerry's Kids aren't going to walk, even if you send them money. It's not only politically incorrect to get behind settling, it's downright un-American. Our culture tells us to keep our eyes on the prize (while our mothers, who know better, tell us not to be so picky), and the theme of holding out for true love (whatever that is—look at the divorce rate) permeates our collective mentality. Even situation comedies, starting in the 1970s with The Mary Tyler Moore Show and going all the way to Friends, feature endearing single women in the dating trenches, and there's supposed to be something romantic and even heroic about their search for true love. Of course, the crucial difference is that, whereas the earlier series begins after Mary has been jilted by her fiancé, the more modern-day Friends opens as Rachel Green leaves her nice-guy orthodontist fiancé at the altar simply because she isn't feeling it. But either way, in episode after episode, as both women continue to be unlucky in love, settling starts to look pretty darn appealing. Mary is supposed to be contentedly independent and fulfilled by her newsroom family, but in fact her life seems lonely. Are we to assume that at the end of the series, Mary, by then in her late 30s, found her soul mate after the lights in the newsroom went out and her work family was disbanded? If her experience was anything like mine or that of my single friends, it's unlikely. And while Rachel and her supposed soul mate, Ross, finally get together (for the umpteenth time) in the finale of Friends, do we feel confident that she'll be happier with Ross than she would have been had she settled down with Barry, the orthodontist, 10 years earlier? She and Ross have passion but have never had long-term stability, and the fireworks she experiences with him but not with Barry might actually turn out to be a liability, given how many times their relationship has already gone up in flames. It's equally questionable whether Sex and the City's Carrie Bradshaw, who cheated on her kindhearted and generous boyfriend, Aidan, only to end up with the more exciting but self-absorbed Mr. Big, will be better off in the framework of marriage and family. (Some time after the breakup, when Carrie ran into Aidan on the street, he was carrying his infant in a Baby Björn. Can anyone imagine Mr. Big walking around with a Björn?)
