I went to Crater Of Diamond State Park in Murfreesboro, Arkansas and picked a .44 karat diamond right out of the dirt!! At first I thought it was snot, and then a piece of glass, so I had to get it checked out to make sure it was legit. The park as a gem specialist on sight, and sure enough it was a white diamond! The park itself is incredibly interesting. Crater of Diamonds state park is a 371/2 acre plowed field positioned on an eroded 95 million year old volcano, which is also the world’s eight largest diamond-bearing volcanic crater. The park is located in Murfreesboro, Arkansas (population 1,631) and is the only public accessible diamond site in the world. Admission is $10, and you can keep what you find regardless of how much its worth! Gem hunting and gold mining has turned into my new favorite hobby and I go out panning/sluicing for gold every week. I love it so much I started a new youtube channel all about finding gold and other Gems. This is our family trip to Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas. It was a beautiful February day, and a much better day than the scorching hot day when we went for the first time in July last year. There was a rain a day and a half or two days earlier, and so the likelihood that we would find a diamond was very good. Hope you enjoy!!

Five Of The Best Places To Go Gem Hunting In The US Emerald Hollow Mine (Hiddenite, North Carolina) Located on the foothills of the Brushy Mountains at western North Carolina, Emerald Hollow Mine is the only emerald mine in the United States that’s open to public. It’s the only spot in the country where North Carolina Hiddenite, a rare gemstone discovered by geologist William Earl Hidden in 1879 can be found. Crater of Diamonds State Park (Murfreesboro, Arkansas) Located around 115 miles southwest of Little Rock on the site of a volcanic crater, the park is a place of buried diamonds crystallized from carbon, which formed in the earth’s mantle billions of years ago and were push to the surface by the crater’s explosion. Jade Cove Trail (Big Sur, California) Jade Cove Trail is a popular between jade hunters who search for the greenish-colored gemstone, which forms due to subduction or when oceanic and continental plates collide. since the trail is part of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has released strict guidelines for jade hunting, but as long as specimens are in plain sight, jade hunters are welcome to hunt the jade. Morefield Mine (Amelia County, Virginia) During World War II, Morefield Mine was used by military suppliers in search of strategic minerals like mica, beryl and tantalum for use in tanks and artillery. Today, this mine which , located just outside of Richmond, Virginia ,which owned privately and is a popular site to hunt for amazonite, a greenish gem named after the Amazon River, and 80 other gems and minerals. Graves Mountain (Lincolnton, Georgia) Several times in once a year, the caretakers of Graves Mountain, located about 130 miles east of Atlanta, invite visitors to dig for buried treasure at this site, which formed millions of years ago when sedimentary rocks metamorphosed. One time, Tiffany & Co. mined the site for rutile, a crystal-like mineral which used to polish its diamonds collection. Welcome world, this channel is mega news and will be your best friend. #schooniebird #practicingretirement #myrvlife It's finally time to cross the Texas border and head into Arkansas. I landed in Murfreesboro, Arkansas and went to the Crater Diamond State Park. It sits on an eroded surface from a volcanic crater, where you can mine for a variety of rocks, minerals, and gemstones. Everything you find is yours to keep, and YES, people have and are still finding diamonds in these fields! I, unfortunately, did not but I still had a blast! Park staff provide complimentary identification of rocks and minerals found at the park and there is a fantastic visitors center to check out first. This is a fun family trip and you never know what you might dig up! Take the day off. Make the trip. Explore the country. Wet sifting requires a lot of hard work, and previous experience is helpful. This method is usually preferred by the repeat or regular visitor, and involves digging deep holes, removing the right type soil, washing the soil in a series of screens and patiently hand sorting the concentrated gravels from the screens. Some searchers look for low areas in the field where diamonds may have settled out over the years, or for tailings from the earlier commercial mining plants of the 20's and 30's. Tailings are the waste gravel that went out of the plant. Over the years, these tailing piles were covered by topsoil. The experienced regular hunters look for the tiny gravel, dig it up and wash it again by hand, looking for the small diamonds. As always, you keep any diamonds you find at Crater of Diamonds State Park. Plan your visit: http://www.craterofdiamondsstatepark.com

Surface searching consists of walking up and down the rows of dirt looking for diamonds lying on top of the ground. This is the most productive method following a hard rain. Rain washes the soil away, leaving diamonds and other rocks and minerals exposed on the surface. Most visitors like to dig in the soil and screen for diamonds. This usually involves searching through the first six inches to one foot of soil. Visitors can turn the soil over with a small hand tool while looking in the loose soil. Some visitors like to use a screen to sift the soil. As always, you keep any diamonds you find at Crater of Diamonds State Park. Plan your visit: http://www.craterofdiamondsstatepark.com/

DIAMOND STATE PARK, ARKANSAS — An 8.52 carat diamond has been found by a woman at Arkansas' Crater of Diamonds State Park on Wednesday. Bobbie Oskarson, from Colorado, found the big gem around the Pig Pen, a 37-acre search field inside the park, which takes the name from its muddy terrain after rainfall. At the beginning she thought it was a quartz crystal, but a park staffer confirmed it was indeed a diamond. Shaped like an icicle, the stone is three-quarters of an inch long and it has the diameter of a No.2 pencil. The largest diamond found at the park was 16.73 carats and was discovered in 1972. The search area at the park is the only diamond-producing site in the world to be open to the public. Oskarson, who plans to keep the diamond, named the stone after her niece Esperanza, which means 'hope' in Spanish. No estimate of the value of the diamond has been made available. More than 75,000 diamonds have been unearthed in the park since the first ones were discovered in 1906. ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets. Diamond Hunt? In the middle of Arkansas State Parks there is the only public diamond mine in the world; by paying a ticket of 10 dollars you can search for diamonds on your own. It’s strange but true; whatever you find, you can actually keep! It is a public treasure hunting paradise because an industrial mining of the diamonds isn’t worth the investment. For more than a century this volcanic crater has been producing diamonds; More than 100,000 diamonds have been found in the Crater of Diamonds State Park. This land was owned by the Arkansas Diamond Mining Company until 1972, when it was purchased by the State and was developed into a State Park. So far the hardworking treasure hunters have found 30 thousand stones in all different sizes and colours. The largest diamond ever found in the volcano crater was 40.3 carats, back in 1924. The diamond was named “Uncle Sam” after its finder’s own nickname, a worker at the Arkansas Diamond Corporation called Wesley Oley Basham. It is said to be the largest diamond ever discovered in the United States. ================================== If you like this video, share, like, comment & don't forget to subscribe for more content! Where do you find diamonds?? Well, we hunted for uncut natural diamonds at Crater of the Diamonds State Parks in Murfreesboro Arkansas. The job was not easy! The days were long and hot and the mining was a bit tedious... Although the journey was quite an adventure!
