Design of a 4 bit Full Adder Subtractor using Cadence Virtuoso Software

18:21
In this project, four bit adder-subtractor is designed using CADENCE VIRTUOSO meeting the specifications given in the specification table. The whole design was sorted into several sub-circuits which were next built using only CMOS implementation. The final design was then formed by merging all sub- circuit components. Moreover layouts of the components were also prepared in accordance with the schematic. ** Instrumental List: [ used in this video] - 1] Canon in D Variation - My Sassy Girl 2] 재회의 테마 ( Reunion Theme- Fast Version) - Windstruck 3] 새로운 시작 ( The New Beginning)- Daisy 4] Wo de fu qin mu qin- The Road Home 5] Free from the Black Magic - My Mighty Princess 6] Green Fields- Tenshi No Koi

Tutorial 2 VLSI Electric Full Adder Layout Design

30:07
Tutorial 1: How to design a NAND/NOR logic gates Layout on VLSI Electric and then simulate it using LT Spice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jqj8VmS38fw Tutorial 2: How to design a Full Adder Layout on VLSI Electric and then simulate it using LT Spice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpL7YQQECKQ Programs used: ElectricBinary-9.04 LT Spice 4.20c The following link is a tutorial made by Professor Jake Baker. The 1st tutorial: Talks about the manufacturing of a resistor The 2nd tutorial: Design of PMOS & NMOS, Schematics, Layout and Simulation The 3rd tutorial: Design of an Inverter, Logic Gate, Schematics, Layout and Simulation The 4th tutorial: Design of NAND,Logic Gate, Schematics, Layout and Simulation http://www.youtube.com/user/efabless Next is the website that has the rest of the information http://cmosedu.com/ The simulator`s name used in the simulation process is "LT spice". Electric VLSI basically converts your design into a spice code so that can be exported to the spice simulator. Just go to Google and type "LT spice download" and then download the program then follow the instructions listed in the link below: http://cmosedu.com/cmos1/ltspice/ltspice_electric.htm The final step is to save the following text on your PC, since it is the library used to convert the model names into spice parameters. http://cmosedu.com/cmos1/electric/C5_models.txt PS: Download 3D Java you`ll thank me for it when go through the 4th tutorial @ (24:55) Credits goes to Professor Jake Baker and his tutorials. This is just a tutorial video and the software used is an open source program, I am not claimed ownership on any of the material used. Enjoy :)

How Computers Calculate - the ALU: Crash Course Computer Science #5

11:10
Take the 2017 PBS Digital Studios Survey: http://surveymonkey.com/r/pbsds2017. Today we're going to talk about a fundamental part of all modern computers. The thing that basically everything else uses - the Arithmetic and Logic Unit (or the ALU). The ALU may not have to most exciting name, but it is the mathematical brain of a computer and is responsible for all the calculations your computer does! And it's actually not that complicated. So today we're going to use the binary and logic gates we learned in previous episodes to build one from scratch, and then we'll use our newly minted ALU when we construct the heart of a computer, the CPU, in episode 7. *CORRECTION* We got our wires crossed with the Intel 4004, which we discuss later. The 74181 was introduced by Texas Instruments in 1970 but appeared in technical manuals around 1969. The design of the 74181, like most of the 74xx/74xxx series, was an open design which was manufactured by many other companies - Fairchild was one such manufacturer. They produced a chip, the Fairchild 9341, which was pin-for-pin compatible with the 74181. Fairchild was the first to prototype an ALU, building the Fairchild 4711 in 1968 - a one-off device not optimized for scale manufacturing. In 1969, Signetics came out with the 8260, which they marketed in a very limited sense (it was attached, AFAICT, to one particular computer, the Data General SUPERNOVA). TI follows afterwards (March 1970) with the 74181, coupled with the 9341 from Fairchild. The 74181 became the standard number for this part, and was available from many manufacturers (back in those days, chip makers cross-licensed designs all over the place in order to provide assurance that their part could be sourced from multiple manufacturers). Logisim Evolution Lab09: ROM

07:00
CIS 221 students at Cochise College use Logisim-Evolution to simulate digital logic circuits and this video is one of a series designed to teach the fundamentals of that simulator. This is the video for Lab #9: ROM. The lab manual and student files can be downloaded from http://bit.ly/2uNYnvv. The lab manual is named "dl_lab.pdf" and the student files are found in the "Student_Files" folder. The digital logic text that this lab was designed to support can be downloaded from http://bit.ly/2w6qU2C. The text is named "dl.pdf" and can be freely downloaded. Both sites are GITHUB repositories and anyone can clone these books to use or modify as desired.
