If You See Square Waves In The Ocean, Get Out Of The Water Immediately

03:40
Watch The Best Story On Youtube : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlp659DiW3g If You See Square Waves In The Ocean, Get Out Of The Water Immediately We’re used to the relaxing sounds of gentle waves hitting the shoreline, but did you know that there are different types of waves? I’m not talking about big waves like tsunamis, but a natural phenomenon known as square waves. These waves are called a “cross sea,” which forms when waves collide from different angles and form squares in the ocean. You might have never heard of or even seen waves like this, but they do exist, and they’re very dangerous. The pictures of square waves are enchanting. It almost feels these waves are inspired from a science fiction tale like the Matrix, in which the pieces of the world are about to fall apart. In areas where “cross seas” are common, residents would beg to differ. Île de Ré, an island off the west coast of France, experiencing square waves. When waves from one weather system continue to move in the same direction, even though there has been a shift in wind, it causes waves made by the new wind to run at an angle, creating a dangerous pattern. It looks harmless on the surface, but underwater, there are powerful currents that can capsize and throw large ships up in the air. The reason why is because boats are made to hit currents head on, but if waves are coming from all different angles, there’s no escape. Rare image of square waves. Cross seas also create extremely dangerous riptides, so make sure you’re not anywhere close to the water when this natural phenomenon occurs. Luckily, square waves don’t happen often, but it’s important to know what they mean and how to stay safe. A cross sea covering as far as the eye can see. 1. The convergence of the Baltic and North Seas This ocean phenomenon is believed to even be mentioned in the Quran. In Denmark, there’s a clear line that separates the Baltic and North Seas because these waters never mix together. The reason is because of the difference in densities in the two seas. Think of it like this: Why doesn’t oil and water mix? 2. Red Tide The Red Tide is also called “Algal Blooming.” Not all red tides are harmful to humans and marine life, but it’s best to stay out of these waters just in case. 3. Bioluminescent shores This mesmerizing display of bioluminescence was found in Tathra, New South Wales. These gorgeous nighttime beaches that can be found on every adventurer’s bucket list is caused by bioluminescent plankton in warm coastal waters. When these plankton are under stress, they make the water glow as a defence mechanism, attracting predators to eat the predator trying to eat them. Some people believe underwater circles were created by aliens. There’s a lot of mystery surrounding underwater crop circles after they were found near the waters of a Japanese island. Some think these intricate underwater sand designs were created by an extraterrestrial being, while others think this is the work of puffer fish. It’s more widely believed that these fish draw these circles and decorate them with shells to attract a mate. Did you know square waves exist? How to Do Water Drop Photography

In this photography tutorial we show you how to capture water drops using a basic set up and a more complex setup using the SplashArt 2 dropper system. I first started shooting water drop photography a few years ago when I noticed a few popping up on Flickr. It is an exciting area of macro photography and I was instantly struck by these amazing moments of nature that we see so often in our lives but never have the chance to study. Fascinated, I decided to see what it took to capture these images and I felt I could produce something original using my own lighting ideas and composition. Having set up, using something very close to the basic setting featured in the video, my first capture of a water drop was extremely satisfying. I was instantly hooked. I quickly upgraded my equipment and bought the SplashArt 2 kit so I could produce and capture water drop collisions repeatedly. Once in the arsenal it left me more time to play with my lighting setup, composition and drop consistency. In water drop photography changing the consistency of the liquid has a direct result on the final image. Milk is slightly thicker so behaves differently and the different surface tension produces different looking drops. I eventually took this to an extreme adding Xanthan Gum to my liquid. This thickens and smooths the liquid to the point where the final drops have a crystal like appearance. Understanding the theory of water drop photography is key to giving you the ability to fully explore the creative possibilities. Normally we freeze action by increasing shutter speed and this works perfectly in most conditions. However in water drop photography the action is frozen with the flash. When using flash to light a scene the shutter speed is limited by the flash sync speed of your camera. On most DSLR's this limits you to about 1/200th or 1/250th second which is not quick enough to freeze a water drop. The flash burst is much faster than this so exposes the scene so quickly that it freezes the action. Further, Speedlite flash guns discharge their light faster at lower powers so the lower the power you can manage to use the better your image will be frozen. After some experimentation I settled on using 1/32 flash power. The shutter speed does not really matter but I set it at 1/200 to avoid any ambient light sneaking into the image. Aperture needs to be as high as possible to ensure all the drop is in sharp focus but needs to be balanced with ISO to obtain a well exposed image that is not too noisy. The majority of my shots have used f/11 and an ISO of around 400. Hopefully this will arm you with the skills and knowledge required to start shooting your own images. To move things on further you can add extra flash guns and multiple droppers to ensure that every image will be unique.

Creating Water Ripple Effects in 3ds Max - Part 1 - Setting the Scene

05:24
This tutorial is in response to the many subscribers who showed an interest in creating water rippling effects. This tutorial will go through the steps needed to create the effect of a bouncing object and rippling effects on a water surface. In this first tutorial, you set the basis of the bouncing arrow. Later on, you will enhance the animation by adding ripples, materials, and scene lighting. Rivers & Streams - Realistic Scenery Vol.8

27:10
A water scene can dramatically change the look of an already fantastic model and make it look even better! In this easy to follow tutorial I’ll step you through modeling with water from a plain piece of foam board right up to an amazing looking river scene! This model river is made in HO scale however as with most of the tutorials I do the techniques can be applied to not only HO scale but N scale and lager scales as well. The technique I use can be applied for a slow flowing river or stream modeling a lake, modeling rapids and modeling a waterfall as well. I use EnviroTex Lite to model this diorama however most two part epoxies will work just as well and you can also use Woodland Scenics Realistic Water which is an acrylic that is easy to use and easy to clean. A lot of modelers will avoid adding a water scene to their model railroad layout or war gaming terrain because in the past a lot of others have had bad experiences using the various water products however… with some careful planning and proper preparation you should have no problems working with these products. The technique I use for this diorama can be applied in many different scenarios from modelling a dam to modelling white water rapids and they will all look absolutely amazing. When it comes to adding ripples be sure to only apply a thin layer of Mod Podge, if the mod podge layer is too thick it will become cloudy on humid days as it absorbs the moisture out of the air, the Woodland Scenics Water Effects also has the same problem when applied very thick. I hope you are enjoying the tutorials, I spend many hours (when I’m not working my day job) filming and editing these tutorials in order to upload them to YouTube. Here are some stats for this video: Total amount of footage filmed – 12 hours 20 minutes and 14 seconds Total file size of filmed footage – 104 gig Total time spent building the diorama – Over 40 hours Number of photos taken during final photo shoot – 94 (A lot less than usual because it started to rain) Time spent editing – 22 hours Approximate cost of diorama - $105.00 (The vehicle was the most expensive at $50 because I had to order it from Europe and pay a large postage fee) If you’d like to support this channel to help keep the videos coming feel free to check out my Patreon Page where I have a few different perks and rewards for those that support me: https://www.patreon.com/luketowan

Creating Water Ripple Effects in 3ds Max - Part 2 - Water Ripples

08:55
In this tutorial, you create the arrow that travels on a path and appears to be causing the water ripples. In fact, the arrow only gives the illusion of creating the ripples. The object that is actually creating the ripples is a simple sphere that you animate to follow the same path and that you set to be non-renderable. Building the ULTIMATE Waterfall [Realistic Scenery Vol.11]

41:00
Have you ever wondered how to model an awesome waterfall on your own layout or diorama? This tutorial will show you exactly what to do! In this easy to follow tutorial I’ll step you through the process, from a bare piece of foam right up to a completed scene that will amaze anyone who sees it. This is quite a long video so here are some key links in the video that will take you right to the juice parts about making the waterfall: Painting the river bed: 17:15 Mixing and pouring the resin: 22:16 Making and attaching the waterfall strips: 28:55 Adding water ripples: 32:59 Adding rough water waves: 34:23 Creating the water mist at the bottom of the waterfall: 39:55 Working with resin can be intimidating for even a seasoned modeler, especially when making a model waterfall. The techniques I used to create this HO scale waterfall and river can easily be applied to almost any other scale, from N scale to O scale the methods I used can still be applied. If you’d like to help support the channel you can join me on patreon, I have some rewards for patrons depending on the level of support https://www.patreon.com/bePatron?c=175113 For more information on building the waterfall and more images you will find them at: http://www.bouldercreekrailroad.com IMOPRTANT NOTE: In the video after pouring the resin and leaving it to dry I apply scenic glue over the entire scene once I finished adding the ground foam and textures, the glue also ends up covering the river surface, because the river is made using two part epoxy the excess glue and alcohol is easily wiped away. If you use something like Woodland Scenics Realistic Water you will need to make sure you don’t get any glue or alcohol over the river surface, the glue and alcohol are partially absorbed by the surface and it will lose its glossy appearance. If you are using Woodland Scenics Realistic Water make sure to only pour the river after you have applied the scenery and sealed it with glue. Additional Note: The river is quite deep, approximately 2-3cm in parts, using a two part epoxy is usually not a problem with deep pours however 3cm is approaching the limit. If you use Woodland Scenics Realistic Water you need to make sure the river is poured no thicker than 0.5cm deep, any deeper and you risk the river cracking as it dries. To get more depth with the realistic water you’ll need to apply multiple pours until the depth you desire is reached. Water ripple effect with multitouch software Snowflake

00:51
Simon from the Computer Games Programming education at Luleå Technical University (LTU) in Skellefteå joined NUITEQ for an internship during the Spring of 2014. Using the multitouch software platform Snowflake, Simon created a water ripple effect, simulating...., yes, water :) I think it all came together really nicely as it looks good and was developed in a very time efficient fashion. At the same time it also shows how powerful the Snowflake platform is. Thank you for stopping by our channel! The Original Double Slit Experiment

07:40
Light is so common that we rarely think about what it really is. But just over two hundred years ago, a groundbreaking experiment answered the question that had occupied physicists for centuries. Is light made up of waves or particles? The experiment was conducted by Thomas Young and is known as Young's Double Slit Experiment. This famous experiment is actually a simplification of a series of experiments on light conducted by Young. In a completely darkened room, Young allowed a thin beam of sunlight to pass through an aperture on his window and onto two narrow, closely spaced openings (the double slit). This sunlight then cast a shadow onto the wall behind the apparatus. Young found that the light diffracted as it passed through the slits, and then interfered with itself, created a series of light and dark spots. Since the sunlight consists of all colours of the rainbow, these colours were also visible in the projected spots. Young concluded that light consist of waves and not particles since only waves were known to diffract and interfere in exactly the manner that light did in his experiment. The way I have always seen this experiment performed is with a laser and a manufactured double slit but since the experiment was conducted in 1801 I have always thought that it should be possible to recreate the experiment using sunlight and household materials. That is basically what I did here. I will show the interference pattern I observed with my homemade double slit on 2Veritasium but I chose to use a manufactured double slit here to ensure that the pattern was impressive for observers at the beach. Special thanks to Henry, Brady, and Rupert for their cameos, Glen for filming and Josh for helping create the apparatus. Thanks also to the Royal Society for allowing us to view the original manuscript of Young's lecture and the University of Sydney for lending the double slits. Advancing with Watercolor: Edges "Shimmering Light on Water"

12:59
This is a video done as a supplement to a watercolor class taught by Gary Tucker in Boston. This video demonstrates how an artist looks at their subject in terms of edges. Through a manipulation of edges we can portray atmosphere, the effects of light on different surfaces, and also create a more complete mood. These different edges are created through separate techniques in watercolor and by practicing them in drills and then in your motif you are closer to a mastery of this medium A tutorial accompanying this video can be found here: http://www.garytuckerartist.com/gallery/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/edges-shimmering-water.pdf See this video for drills associated with edges: https://youtu.be/OCbGzDn7CnI A list of materials that I use can be found at http://www.garytuckerartist.com/gallery/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Materials-for-traveling-watercolorists.pdf Thank you for liking this short video and for your comments. Waves on the surface of water HD

00:58
The waves on the surface of the water are neither longitudinal nor transverse. We can see in animation that red ball, which simulates the molecule of the water surface, moves in a circle path. So, the wave on the water surface is the superposition of transverse and longitudinal motions of the molecules. The molecules on the water surface move under the action of surface tension and gravity. Next animation simulates the wave motion of the molecules in the surface layer of water (or other liquid). If the amplitude of this wave is small, then every molecule moves in a circle path. The radii of these circles are diminishing with depth, so the balls in bottom part of animation are still.

Amazing Water & Sound Experiment #2

Add me on Facebook. (click LIKE on Facebook to add me) https://www.facebook.com/158773774166995 Download the song in this video Song Name: Monolith iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/monolith-single/id596457486 Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=brusspup+monolith Ever since I created the first version of this video a year ago I've been wanting to try it again with more water and better lighting / footage. This is a really fun project and when you first see the results, chances are your jaw will drop. The main thing to keep in mind for this project is that you need a camera that shoots 24 fps. The effect that you are seeing can't be seen with the naked eye. The effect only works through the camera. However, there is a version of the project you can do where the effect would be visible with the naked eye. For that project, you'd have to use a strobe light. For this project you'll need: A powered speaker Water source Soft rubber hose Tone generating software 24 fps camera Tape. Run the rubber hose down past the speaker so that the hose touches the speaker. Leave about 1 or 2 inches of the hose hanging past the bottom of the speaker. Secure the hose to the speaker with tape or whatever works best for you. The goal is to make sure the hose is touching the actual speaker so that when the speaker produces sound (vibrates) it will vibrate the hose. Set up your camera and switch it to 24 fps. The higher the shutter speed the better the results. But also keep in the mind that the higher your shutter speed, the more light you need. Run an audio cable from your computer to the speaker. Set your tone generating software to 24hz and hit play.Turn on the water. Now look through the camera and watch the magic begin. If you want the water to look like it's moving backward set the frequency to 23hz. If you want to look like it's moving forward in slow motion set it to 25hz. Have fun!
